meth sucks

Stimulant abuse is insidious.

Under the charade of productivity, there’s no easier way to spend 12 hours doing what essentially amounts to nothing.

Everything produces dopamine when you’re high on meth. Doomscrolling social media, going down Wikipedia rabbit holes, starting hobby projects you’ll never touch again, masturbating for 6 hours, you name it. It all feels rewarding to the brain.

But what about things that matter? Things you enjoy doing when off the drugs?

Not enough stimulation reading a book. It becomes impossible to sit still and watch a movie you love without pausing 50 times to get sidetracked on another device. Cleaning, personal hygiene, household chores, career progression? All out the window. None of that matters, it’s a waste of time. I’m busy learning about Mithraism, which will obviously come in handy at some point.

It’s going to be fun learning how to rewire my brain to enjoy things again, one activity at a time, without that instant gratification fueled by aggressively hazardous mind-altering stimulants.
